New Year’s Resolution – On Track! Bring On HDR!

This year, like last year, my friend (and fellow photog )Bill and I made a pact that we’d take time twice a month to photograph whatever we want. Our only requirement was that we use techniques we don’t normally use in our areas of expertise. Yesterday was this year’s first trek out. Location : Seaport Village San Diego and the Tuna Harbor. Topic : HDR ( High Dynamic Range ) photography. HDR requires software and skills not normally used in wedding photography. My task was to perfect my skills at it for use in advertising work and to incorporate it ( when applicable) into some wedding work. For those events that lend themselves to it, it is PHENOMINAL! Take a look and see the difference from the normal exposure and the HDR image. WOW! Can’t wait for next month!

Chrissy and Jason’s Engagement

The new year is upon us and we’re already firing away! Seal Beach , CA was the location for Chrissy and Jason’s engagement shoot. We had a great time and got some great shots! You guys are a great looking couple and I’m looking forward to the Big Day at Old Ranch!!!

I just wanted to say, “Thank You to EVERYONE,” involved in making the end of our year a little more special. For all of my wonderful new clients who booked me for 2010, I’m looking forward to working with each and every one of you ( for some of you, we’ve already begun!) to give you my very best wedding imagery.

Of course, this industry is built upon relationships and I would not be where I am today without the very special people I’ve met on this journey. First off, I want to say Thank You to my wonderful girlfriend, Sherri. Sherri’s truly creative and is my inspiration, sounding board, my reality check, my everything! Did I mention she has a Great Eye?!?! Of course Liz, Allison, Holly and all the girls at the Ebell Club of Long Beach. What a great team! I always have a great time working at the club. And last, but not least, all of my friends here in San Diego at the ABC. It has been a great year getting to know so many of you. These folks are some of the very best in the business and I’m proud to be associated with you. I look forward to a great 2010!

San Diego ABC Red Carpet Awards ( December 12th 2009)

Hello Everyone!

This year, Ben Aguirre Photography was the photographic sponsor of the San Diego Association of Bridal Consultants annual Red Carpet Awards event. This year, we were thirty-five stories above San Diego in the very private University Club atop Symphony Hall. Everyone had a wonderful time meeting both established and new ABC Members as well as he awards ceremony. As a Board Member of the San Diego ABC, I now realize all of the hard work, planning and dedication of our Steering Committee to pull off such a great event. But hey, that what we do!
